Data published earlier this week shows that WEEE targets are likely to be missed the second year running by the environment agency.
If compliance schemes cannot meet their individual targets it is thought that they will be required to pay into a fund in order to have met their recycling obligation. A total of £8 million was collected last year as a result of a deficit in the collection. This year the gap is hoped to not be quite so big.
